Printing and Painting
The flowers this year have been spectacular in the Yukon! I only wish I could capture them all in my prints as quickly as their seasons pass. I have been playing with some Lupine images that I carved recently. This is my first attempt at mounting them onto board and colouring them with paint, coloured pencil and chalk pastels. I really enjoy playing with the different colours and mediums! There is still more work to be done, but not a bad start.

fabric fun!
Today I have been playing with printing on fabric. It seems like a natural progression for my work. I really enjoy creating images that can be expanded by repetition! That is the technique I have often used, for example on the pieces in 'Fire, Wind, Water, Earth, Art'. So, I took a workshop in May, through Maiwa Handprints in Vancouver and it opened up a whole new world to me! Things have been a bit busy since then and I am finally getting to try some of the stuff I learned.

The mini gallery is up!
It's up! The mini gallery that Michael built is up at the end of our driveway in Haines Junction. Thanks to Michael for building it and Chris for putting it up! I am really excited about being able to put together little exhibitions for people passing by to enjoy!
